Plum Creek Ranch Spanish Goats
We are a ranching family in the Flinthills of Kansas that primarily raise cattle. About five years ago I was introduced to goats and their ability to clean up pastures efficiently and at a low cost. At PCR we believe that our spanish goats can take care of themselves. We provide minimal input, providing free choice minerals, and limited feed during the winter months. We never have to trim feet, and we deworm on individual, as needed basis; deworming at most twice a year. We breed in early November for April kidding, and we do let our weaned nannies breed the year of their birth, kidding as yearlings. We have always done so and see no reason not to, as the nannies grow out just fine and provide you with one extra kid crop.
Plum Creek Ranch Spanish Goats started out as a partnership between my older brother and I four years ago; however, he soon sold out of the goat business and my younger brother bought in about three years ago. Now my younger brother and I raise pure Syfan line Spanish goats and a few Spanish x Kiko crossbreds.
